HR Generalist

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join a client's team in Scotts Valley, California. The HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations across the full employee lifecycle. This position partners closely with HR leadership, managers, and employees to deliver consistent, compliant, and people-centered HR support.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist will be responsible for owning core HR processes for assigned employee groups and supporting more complex or sensitive matters in partnership with senior HR leadership. This is a highly visible, employee-facing role requiring strong organization, sound judgment, professionalism, and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee transitions.
  • Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files within HRIS (Paycom).
  • Partner with payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate employee data and timely updates.
  • Assist with benefits administration, enrollment changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Support performance management processes and documentation.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support recruiting efforts for assigned requisitions, including coordination, scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • Participate in intake discussions to clarify hiring needs.
  • Conduct candidate screenings as needed.
  • Coordinate interviews and support offer preparation.
  • Facilitate onboarding activities to ensure new hire readiness and a positive first-day experience.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on company policies and HR best practices.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, escalating complex issues to HR leadership.
  • Support investigations, documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure HR practices align with company policies and employment regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sensitive matters.

HR Programs, Processes & Reporting

  • Support HR initiatives related to engagement, culture, and process improvement.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and data accuracy.
  • Help develop and distribute HR communications related to programs, policies, and updates.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar human resources role.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Working knowledge of HR policies, compliance fundamentals, and employment practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and employee-facing skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS platforms (Paycom, Greenhouse, Lever, or similar).

Additional Details

Salary: $35 - $45 per hour

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
